The Kannada version of the reality show Bigg Boss, Bigg Boss Kannada (BBK) was launched during 2013 with Colors Kannada Channel in India. Sudeep was the host of the show. The show was on for 99 days beginning with to the Grand Premiere on March 24 2013 to the Grand Finale on June 30 the 30th of June, 2013. There were two guests as well as an average of 15 contestants were present to watch the show. 47 cameras were installed at the Bigg Boss house in Lonavala to document the activities which took place in the house.

2013 saw the appointment of Kiccha Sudeepa as host the reality show of the ETV Kannada’s (now Colors Kannada) inaugural season. He was later a host on the show in the years following.
