Cervical Pain

Neck pain is not always indicative of a serious medical condition. Almost 60% of patients go to the doctor with complaints of cervical. This is due to the fact that the cervical spine is the most mobile, has a weak muscle corset and performs several functions at once. Most problems can be dealt with by a chiropractor. If the pain has become regular, a thorough comprehensive examination will be required.

Causes of neck pain

The most common cause of neck pain is a sedentary lifestyle. These conditions are typical for those who work on a computer, spend a lot of time behind the wheel of a car. Sports injury can cause pain. Due to the uncomfortable posture, over strain, spasm of the cervical muscles occurs. A sudden movement can lead to stretching of the neck ligaments, displacement of the facet joints of the vertebrae.

The likelihood of pain is increased by:

  • hypothermia;
  • long stay in one position;
  • uncomfortable position during sleep;
  • working in a sitting or standing position;
  • over strain of the muscles of the cervical-collar zone;
  • injuries and increased stress.

Even with mild pain, an examination should be done. Many conditions can be reversed with therapeutic treatments. Manual therapy is especially effective in such cases.

Headache and neck pain

Violations in the neck-collar zone often cause the development of more serious diseases. Neck pain can be accompanied by a number of symptoms:

  • headache;
  • dizziness;
  • stiffness in movement;
  • silks about the turns of the head;
  • tinnitus;
  • numbness in the hands;
  • instability when walking;
  • migraine.

Unpleasant sensations can be of different nature. The pain is sharp, pulling, throbbing, tingling. Problems worsen with movement. It is difficult for a person to find a position for sleeping, insomnia occurs. Headaches may occur due to poor blood supply to the vessels or spasms.

Prevention and treatment

A physiotherapy course will be an excellent prophylaxis for the health of the cervical spine. The doctor works with the patient individually and selects an effective course to prevent disease. High-quality diagnostics will help identify problems at an early stage.

If the head hurts often, it is worth examining the neck. Manual therapy will help solve two problems at once and restore excellent health. Weakness, blurred vision, hearing can be the result of neck pain. In the early stages, physical therapy without the use of drugs can eliminate all these problems.
